Proud to Partner with Omanu Beach SLSC

We are proud to announce our new partnership with Omanu Beach Surf Life Saving Club, supporting one of the Bay of Plenty’s most important community organisations and helping continue its mission of keeping our beaches safe.

Located on one of Mount Maunganui’s busiest beaches, Omanu Beach Surf Life Saving Club plays a vital role in protecting both locals and visitors in and around the water. With thousands heading to the coastline each year, the surf lifesavers at Omanu provide an essential service to our community — and we’re incredibly proud to support the people behind it.

Founded in 1947, Omanu Beach Surf Life Saving Club has been saving lives for almost 80 years. Established during a period of rapid growth in holidaymakers visiting the region, the club has grown from just 18 members to more than 800 today, making it one of the largest surf clubs in New Zealand.

The club is also home to one of the country’s largest Junior Surf programmes, with approximately 400 nippers taking part each year. This programme not only teaches water confidence and lifesaving skills, but also helps shape the next generation of surf lifesavers and community leaders.

Omanu has always been a family-focused club, built on strong values of care, connection, and community. With many third-generation members now bringing their own families through the club, it continues to play an incredibly important role in the lives of so many local families.

At Bayleys, community is at the heart of what we do, and we’re proud to support organisations making a real difference where we live and work. Partnering with Omanu Beach Surf Life Saving Club is a meaningful opportunity for us to contribute to the safety and wellbeing of our local community, while backing a club with a rich legacy and an exciting future.

As part of the partnership, the Bayleys logo can now be seen proudly displayed at the club, featured on the exterior wall alongside Omanu Beach Surf Life Saving Club, and will also appear on the sides of the club’s new surf lifesaving vests. It’s a proud moment for us to see Bayleys represented in such a visible way.

We look forward to being part of Omanu’s journey and supporting the club as it continues its incredible work on our beaches for generations to come.
