Premium new central city homes placed on the market for sale

Stylish new residential dwellings within an enclave of 36 premium townhouses in the heart of New Plymouth – developed by Te Atiawa Iwi Holdings (TAIHLP) – have been placed on the market for sale.

Located on the fringe of New Plymouth’s central city district and renowned Pukekura Park, the enclave, named Pukekura – The Parade, is encircled by Pendarves Street, Lemon Street and Liardet Street.

Construction of the two-storey homes is expected to begin later this year and be completed in early-2025. The homes come in multiple different floorplan configurations and with street or inner complex views. Within Pukekura – The Parade will be 15 two-bedroom/two-bathroom townhouses, 20 three-bedroom/two-bathroom townhouses, and an executive grade four-bedroom/three-bathroom residence.

The homes range in size from 87-square metres to 200-square metres, with outdoor living via either landscaped courtyards or decking. Onsite car parking is included. Designed around Scandinavian interiors, the decor is clean-lined and open planned – with high performing flooring in and around the communal living areas, and stone tiling in the bathrooms.

The homes will be built in eight individual ‘groups’, separated by landscaped gardens and tree plantings, access roading leading to allocated car parking, pedestrian pavements, and a boardwalk – all designed to create a neighbourhood environment. A residents’ association will manage administration of common areas within Pukekura – The Parade grounds.

Naming of Pukekura – The Parade pays homage to both its dual Māori and colonial settler origins. Prior to European influences, Pukekura was a large plateau - with a gully system of waterways including the Huatoki River which was a significant food source.

Homes within Pukekura – The Parade are now being marketed for sale through Bayleys Taranaki. Salespeople Neale Parkinson, and Rachel Williams said potential buyers could indicate which location they preferred within Pukekura – The Parade, along with how many bedrooms and internal floor plan layout they were opting for.

The units are being marketed for sale at prices ranging from $783,000 for a two-bedroom dwelling, from $868,000 for the three-bedroom residences, and $1.4million for the executive four-bedroom home. Five dwellings within Pukekura – The Parade are already under contract.

As with this and upcoming Te Atiawa housing development projects in New Plymouth, uri of Te Atiawa iwi have been given first options of purchasing homes within Pukekura – The Parade.

“There is a need for quality-built new homes within New Plymouth – and those in Pukekura – The Parade will not only enjoy the benefit of being situated adjacent to the city’s premier green space but are also within comfortable walking distance of the central city’s full gamut of social activities and employment,” Mr Parkinson said.

“Both Bayleys Taranaki and TAIHLP are confident that all units within Pukekura – The Parade will sell in a relatively short timeframe simply because there is nothing else like this in the market at present.

“The interior décor options of all units with Pukekura – The Parade have been designed with modern living in mind, with open plan/easy flow spaces, privacy, and security.”
